Class Descriptions Ashtanga Classes are energetic and thorough. The primary series tones and cleanses - body, mind and emotions. Ashtanga synchronizes the breath with asanas (poses), producing internal heat. For each movement there is one or more breaths. Core/Flow Strenthens core muscles and establishes structural awareness. Gentle stretching and strengthening is combined with attention to aligning bones and strengthening muscles. Level 1 The primary series is introduced and confidence and strength are built. This is a thorough practice working both familiar and forgotten muscles and ligaments.
Level 1-2 Building on level 1, the practice expands adding more poses and increasing your stamina while always maintaining a careful attention to deep measured breathing.
Going Deeper Once a month this class explores a group of related poses with a view to strengthening your practice.
