I am of the British Columbia coast. The rugged beauty of the land, ocean and sky are home. The predominance of nature serves as a connecting force linking my awareness with beauty, inspiration and the divine.
Artistic work is both a means of expression and understanding. As an artist there will be an insight and an urge to present the information through an artistic form. During the work the understanding deepens; this is true both when expressing representational works and when expressing concepts and constructs.
I enjoy working in many media. I love working with stone. There is the weight, the awkwardness, the risk, the challenge and most particularly, the process of revealing. To do good work, work that I am happy with, I must listen, I must open my considerations and my senses to experience something far greater than my mind. |
